I’ve been providing design and production services for residential and commercial clients since 1996 for a wide range of projects at various levels of service. Through my career, methods of drawing production have continuously changed, beginning with traditional ‘drafting’, then ‘overlay’ drafting. Computer aided design (CAD) methods began as early as 1984 but Autocad became the primary tool in 1988. In 2007 I started using a building information modeling (BIM) software called Archicad. Today, this allows me to construct an electronic ‘model’ from which any type of design visualization, construction drawing, or schedule of quantites can be generated. Small residential projects include garages, sheds, entry designs and interior remodel designs. Larger residential projects include medium to full service design for new homes in challenging environments such as shorelines and slide-prone areas.
